Interested in taking TOEFL?
Let’s have an overview of the test.
TOEFL is a test designed to measure your language proficiency. If you are applying to a college where English is the language of instruction, your TOEFL scores help the admissions staff to determine if your skills in English are adequate for the enrollment into the program of study you have selected. The test is quite popular because more than 5000 institutions across 90 countries accept these scores.
TOEFL iBT is new version of the TOEFL test. It is an internet based test delivered in secure testing centers across the world.
Well, the answer depends. Usually, many institutions seek some minimum score. It is usually accepted that 70 out of 120 is minimum acceptable score. However, the minimum scores depends on the institution you apply for, your course, and some other factors as to whether you will be a Teaching Assistant. Any score more than 100 is surely respectable score in TOEFL.
The new TOEFL iBT consists of four sections that are designed to measure the basic skills of the language: Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing. All sections are taken on the same day. The entire test is about four hours long. The test is computer based, not computer-adaptive.
